Houston here I come
December 28, 2007 at 11:11 am (Work)
I’m off to Houston on January 8th for a week for work. Having never been I’m sending out an SOS for any suggestions on fun things to do while there.
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller??
I love Jen and her family

So Jen was kind enough to send meWB and I some local treats. I got the box on Monday and have had to just stare at until now. WB wasn’t due home till tonight but called to say he was staying at his Dad’s a couple days longer. Snooze you loose dude, I’m not ignoring the box any longer. Behold my treats:
Yes the chip bag is open…sue me.
The box with the car….is cheese biscuits. How did Jen know I had a cheese addiction??? And they are in the cutest box.
And the chocolates. My god they are too pretty to eat, well maybe.
And the chips. Payback I assume for the new ketchup chip addiction I have given Jen.
Please excuse the lack of makeup, hairdo, etc. I was the only one in the office today and didn’t have the desire to “make” myself pretty. I started eating the chips last night and saved half the bag for my “snack” today. Those were wonderful Jen. Thank you for everything
I am trying desperately to space things out but may have to crack the salsa tonight.
I got another surprise when I came into work this morning. Behold the wonder of Tito.
One of our US employees was up for the Holidays and this elixir of the gods can not be bought here
. 2 bottles for moi!!!! It’s been a banner day for befriending people south of the border.

This morning….
December 21, 2007 at 9:52 am (Blogroll, Wonder Boy)
I just received a text from WB:
“Not going to Physics. Guitar Hero in Math. Ok?”
Seriously.
Go see Jen’s darling girls and their “box from Canada.”
A little Christmas surprise is on its way
December 20, 2007 at 2:26 pm (Blogroll, Friends)
So, for all my lack of Christmas spirit I do enjoy spoiling the youngin’s. Of course my two godsons have been rightfully spoiled with new Toronto Maple Leaf jerseys to ensure the brainwashing starts early.
And for added fun, I decided to adopt spoil Jen’s 2 beautiful daughters. I asked Jen if it would be okay to send the girls some candy they may not be able to get in the US. Little did Jen know what she was in for
By my calculations, the box should be arriving sometime in the next couple hours and I imagine Jen will be addressing the dentist bills to Canada shortly thereafter.
I should also mention that the Christmas card Jen sent me with the girls picture is on my desk at work. Their smiles are infectious and contagious.
Enjoy girls!!!
Christmas hell part one
December 19, 2007 at 11:31 am (Rants, Wonder Boy)
- Working doubles till Friday night
- 15 gifts to buy and don’t finish work till 10pm. Malls close at 9:30pm. Anyone else see the issue?
- Everyone is now coming to my house on the 23rd for dinner. Did I mention WB was spending the 24th and 25th at his girlfriends?
- Consultation for WB’s wisdom teeth: $154.94.
- Estimate for extraction: $1325.00
- Coverage: nil
- University applications due by January 7th.
- Work done on PSE (Personal Statement of Experience) = 0
- WB’s present inclination to get it done = 0
- My frustration levels as of 11am this morning = 15 on a scale of 1 to 10
And how is everyone else coping this week???
How I spent my week end
December 16, 2007 at 5:53 pm (Friends)
This little dude is my other godson. His parents dropped him off Saturday afternoon and were adamant, snow storm or not, they would be back around midnight. Newbies.
They just picked him up at 4pm. Loved having him. He is an absolute dream but big!!!! The child is only 7 months old and almost the same size as my 19 month old godson.
The snow. Can we discuss the snow?? I realize I live in Canada but we have gone the past few years without till January and even then, you could see blades of grass peaking thru. Today? 35 cm of snow fell. Which in inches is about a foot and a half. I had to go to the corner store for milk and the snow passed my boots. So almost knee level on a 5′8″ girl. I haven’t seen snow like this here since I was a kid. Global warming my ass.
Hope everyone enjoyed their week end
Pics of the concert

Swamped with work – at all the jobs – and getting WB ready for University applications. So, I give you some pictures from the Bon Jovi concert last week.
Oh and yes there was a proposal and yes I said I needed to think about it. I’m difficult if nothing else
